The light in the office is stil on. He forgot to turn it off. 辦公室的燈還在亮著(zhe),他忘記關瞭(le).

He forgot turning the light off. 

他忘記他已經關瞭燈瞭.

3. regret to do sth. 遺(yí)憾要做某事（未做）  

regret doing sth. 後(hòu)悔/抱歉做過(guò)某事（已做）

I regret to tell you that you can't pass the examination.

我很遺憾地通知你你不能通過(guò)這次考試(shì)． 

I regret disturbing yo so long.

我很抱歉打擾瞭(le)你那麽(me)久．  

4. try to do sth. 努力做某事   

try doing sth. 嘗(cháng)試(shì)做某事 

He tries to get the apple above the shelf. But fails to reach it. After a while ,Brown comes in and try showing his ability.  

他努力去夠架子上的蘋果，但是沒能夠到。過瞭(le)一會兒，布朗近來嘗(cháng)試表現他的能力。

5. mean to do sth. 計(jì)劃(huà)做某事  

mean doing sth. 意味著(zhe)做某事

I meant to go, but my father would not allow me to. 
      我想去，但是我父親不肯讓我去。 

Doing that means wasting time.

那樣做意味著(zhe)浪費(fèi)時間。  

6. can’t help to do sth. 不能幫(bāng)助做某事 

can’t help doing sth. 情不自禁做某事  

I can't help to do such stupid thing.
      我不能幫著做這樣愚蠢的事。

The movie is so funny. I can't help laughing!

這部電(diàn)影如此搞笑。我情不自禁地笑瞭(le)。

7. go on to do sth. 繼(jì)續(xù)做另一件事  

go on doing sth. 繼(jì)續(xù)做同一件事

He went on doing his homework in his room after supper.

晚飯後他繼續在自己的房間裏做家庭作業。
      After finishing his homework,he went on to read the text.

寫完家庭作業後(hòu),他又繼續讀(dú)課文。

8. stop to do sth. 停下來(lái)去做另一件事

stop doing sth. 停下正在做的事情

The two girls stopped talking when they saw me.
      那兩個女孩一見到我就停止瞭講話。

The two girls stopped to talk to me when they saw me.這兩個(gè)女孩一看到我就停下來和我講話(huà)。

I listened to him read the passage aloud in English yesterday.

I made the students elect a monitor.

注意：以上11個動詞，也可以接現在分詞和過去分詞作賓補，但在時間和語态上會有變化，我們以see爲例來區分一下。

see sb. doing sth. 看到某人正在做某事

see sb./sth. done 看到某人/某物被......

I see him make the phone call.

我看到他打瞭(le)電(diàn)話。（他打電(diàn)話的整個動作我都看見瞭(le)）

I see him making a phone call.我看到他正在打電(diàn)話。（強調看到他正在打電(diàn)話,並(bìng)沒有看見全過程.）

We often see him surrounded by much work.

我們常常看見(jiàn)他被大量的工作包圍著(zhe).
