一、開(kāi)機(jī)≠ open the computer 電腦 、電視、燈(dēng)、空調等這些需要“打開”設備(bèi)才可以用的物品，是不能用open的。“open the computer”是典型的中式英語。 “開機(jī)”正確(què)的說法是 ：switch on / turn on the computer 當(dāng)然你還(hái)可以說：start up the computer 舉例： If you want to switch on the computer, press the grey button. 如果你想要打開(kāi)電(diàn)腦，請按灰色按鈕 。 Can you show me how to start up the computer? 你可以教我怎麽開機嗎？
二、關(guān)機(jī)≠ close the computer 我們剛剛說完“打開”設備(bèi)，接著(zhe)我們就說說“關閉”設備(bèi)的表達 。同理，這類物品的“關閉”也是不能用close來表達! “關(guān)機”正確(què)的說法是：switch off / turn off the computer 當(dāng)然你還(hái)可以說：shut down the computer 舉例 ： Switch off the computer and havea break. 關(guān)上電(diàn)腦，休息一下 。 I shut down the computer and now I can't get it to turn on again. 我關(guān)掉瞭(le)計算機，現在我卻無法再度開機。
三、“電(diàn)腦死機瞭(le)”怎麽說？ 我們使用電腦時 ，經常會出現“死機”的情況，用英語該如何表達呢？最好、最地道的表達就是freeze。對於(yú)freeze，大家比較熟悉“結冰”這層意思，而電腦死機就是屏幕被定住瞭(le)的狀态，好似“電腦屏幕結冰”瞭(le)，是不是很形象呢？下面我們來看一下freeze這個詞的語義網絡圖，感受一下其各層釋義是如何建立起聯系的。 舉例 ： Could you give me a hand? My screen keeps freezing. 能幫(bāng)我看一下嗎，我電腦死機瞭(le) 。
四、“連(lián)接Wi-fi”怎麽(me)說？ 使用電腦，離不開連接Wi-fi。連接Wi-fi怎麽說？是connect with Wi-fi還是connect to Wi-fi？這裏經常會出現介詞(cí)的使用錯(cuò)誤。（使計算機）連接（到互聯網或計算機網絡）應是connect to。 舉例： My computer has problems connecting to Wi-fi. 我電(diàn)腦連(lián)接Wi-fi有問題。
五、“電(diàn)腦壞瞭(le)”怎麽說？ 我們一般表達“電腦壞瞭(le)”，其實並(bìng)不是表示電腦摔壞瞭(le)等物理層面的損壞，而可能是電腦出現瞭(le)“不工作，黑屏”等狀況。地道的表達就是doesn't work，意爲“不工作瞭(le)；不運轉瞭(le)”。 舉例： My computer doesn't work again! 我的電腦又不工作瞭！
